Skip the Wait. Access Private Treatment Faster May 28, 2026

Private healthcare can feel unfamiliar if you have never used it before.

Many people assume it is complicated, expensive or only available through insurance. At The Hamptons Hospital, we work with patients every day to remove that uncertainty and help them access expert care faster, with clear information from the start.

What is self-pay?

Self-pay simply means paying directly for your treatment, consultation or scan (although some patients may also use private medical insurance to cover part or all of their care). It gives patients faster access to appointments, greater flexibility around when they are treated and a clearer understanding of their options and costs.

Patients choose self-pay healthcare for many reasons, including:

At The Hamptons Hospital, our self-pay process is designed to be straightforward and transparent, whether this is your first experience with private healthcare or not.

Whether you need a consultation, diagnostic scan or treatment, our team will guide you through the options clearly, including pricing, so you know exactly what to expect.

If you would like to learn more about self-pay healthcare or discuss pricing with our team, call us on 01733 830393 or visit our self-pay page for prices here.

The Night Clinicians Came Together to Tackle Endometriosis Delays March 27, 2026

At The Hamptons Hospital, clinicians came together to address one of the biggest gaps in women’s health, and what was shared on that evening will help patients get seen and treated sooner.

The focus was simple. Identify endometriosis earlier, refer faster and reduce the delays patients continue to face.

We brought together an inspiring group of female clinicians, local GPs and healthcare professionals for a single purpose. To improve how endometriosis is recognised, referred and treated, and to challenge the delays that patients have come to expect.

The evening featured a specialist-led session from internationally recognised Consultant Gynaecologist, Mrs Salma Kayani, who shared practical insight into one of the most underdiagnosed conditions in women’s health. Some attendees also wore yellow to mark Endometriosis Awareness Month, reinforcing the purpose behind the evening.

Despite affecting 1 in 10 women in the UK, endometriosis still takes an average of eight years to diagnose.

The discussion focused on how clinicians can begin to close that gap. From identifying early symptoms to making confident referral decisions, the session was designed to support faster, more accurate care at every stage of the patient journey.

“No One Should Have to Live With That Kind of Pain” March 15, 2026

“No one should have to live with that kind of pain.”

That was the clear message from Mrs Salma Kayani, Consultant Gynaecologist at The Hamptons Hospital, during her recent interview with Claire Tod from Cambridge Community Radio.

The discussion focused on a condition that affects 1 in 10 women in the UK, yet can still take years to diagnose. Endometriosis remains one of the most misunderstood and overlooked areas of women’s health, despite its impact on daily life, fertility and long-term wellbeing.

At The Hamptons Hospital, conversations like this are part of a wider effort to change that. By bringing together expert clinicians and local voices, we are helping to raise awareness, improve understanding and encourage earlier action.

Understanding Endometriosis and Why It’s Often Missed

During the interview, Mrs Kayani explained endometriosis in clear, practical terms.

The condition occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the womb begins to grow elsewhere in the pelvis. Unlike normal menstrual tissue, this has no way to leave the body. Over time, it builds, causing inflammation, adhesions and, in some cases, damage to surrounding organs.

The symptoms are often dismissed or normalised.  But as Mrs Kayani highlighted, many women live with these symptoms for years before seeking help or are not referred early enough for specialist care. Her advice was direct. If something feels wrong, act on it.

From First Symptoms to Specialist Care

The conversation also explored what happens once a patient enters the healthcare system.

The first step is usually a GP consultation, followed by referral for further investigation. From there, understanding the pattern and nature of pain becomes critical. Timing, severity and progression all help determine whether endometriosis is likely and how advanced it may be.

What matters most is not to delay. Early referral leads to better outcomes.

Specialist Care at The Hamptons Hospital

Mrs Kayani brings advanced expertise in endometriosis and complex pelvic pain to The Hamptons Hospital, alongside a broader focus on women’s health, including fertility, fibroids and menstrual disorders.

Her approach reflects the wider standard of care across the hospital:

Patients benefit from faster access to consultations, clearer answers and coordinated care within a single setting.

Bringing the Community Together: A Special Day at PUFC for Our Sponsored Teams March 10, 2026

At The Hamptons Hospital, we are proud to support three local football teams: Peterborough United, Hampton Rangers Girls U14 and Hampton Hurricanes U9s.

To mark that, we brought them together for a special day at the Weston Homes Stadium, creating a behind-the-scenes football experience that brought players, teams and community together.

The players were given access to areas usually reserved for professionals, walking pitchside and seeing the stadium from a completely new perspective. The day was rounded off with VIP seating to watch Peterborough United take on Exeter, offering a moment that few young players get to experience.

More Than Just a Day at the Stadium

It was a brilliant day, but it’s also a reminder of why this matters.

At The Hamptons Hospital, we care about what happens beyond the hospital. Supporting young people to stay active, build confidence and be part of a team is just as important as the care we provide.

Grassroots football plays a huge role in that. It brings structure, friendships and a sense of belonging, while keeping children active and engaged.

Days like this are a small part of that bigger picture, helping create opportunities and experiences that stay with them.

Our Commitment to the Community

Supporting Hampton Rangers Girls, Hampton Hurricanes U9s and Peterborough United is part of a wider commitment to the local community.

It’s about creating opportunities, building confidence and helping young people stay active through sport.

The Hamptons Hospital is proud to support initiatives that bring people together and make a lasting impact, both on and off the pitch.

We look forward to continuing to support these teams and creating more moments like this across the community.

Supporting Women Living with Endometriosis March 6, 2026

1 in 10 women in the UK have endometriosis. So why does it take on average, 8 years to be diagnosed?

March marks Endometriosis Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness of a condition that affects millions of women worldwide. At The Hamptons Hospital, we are proud to support this important conversation while continuing to expand the specialist care available for women in Peterborough and the surrounding region.

What is Endometriosis?

Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the womb, often causing significant pain, fatigue and fertility challenges. Despite how common it is, many women face long delays before receiving a diagnosis. Increasing awareness and improving access to specialist care is a crucial step toward changing that.

Helping You Get Seen Sooner: What Local Physios Learned at Our First Education Evening December 12, 2025

At The Hamptons Hospital, we’re not just investing in world-class consultants and cutting-edge facilities. We’re also building a network of trusted local clinicians who know each other, learn together, and can make faster, better-informed decisions about your care.

That’s why we hosted our first-ever clinical education evening to bring together local physiotherapists, GPs, osteopaths and healthcare professionals to share knowledge and ultimately deliver faster, more joined-up care for patients across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.

The event, titled Rehab or Refer? Making the Right Call in Acute Knee Injuries, featured a live talk from leading orthopaedic knee surgeon Mr Rupert Clifton, who gave a brilliant presentation on managing acute knee injuries. From when to refer for a scan to when conservative treatment is best, Mr Clifton shared practical insights to help referrers make confident, timely decisions that reduce delays and improve outcomes.

Why This Matters for Patients in Peterborough

This event was just one example of how we’re working to make the healthcare journey smoother for every patient. It reflects our commitment to:

Clearer referral pathways mean:

Behind the Scenes of a Standout Evening

The event was led by Joanne Johnson, our Business Relations Manager, who believes that great care doesn’t start and stop at hospital doors but is built through strong networks, shared knowledge, and seamless transitions between trusted professionals. The evening was a success thanks to her dedication and focus on real relationship-building.

We’d also like to thank other key members of our team, including Tara, Alison, Simon J, Simon M, Addy, Seb, David Lawless, and Matt, whose professionalism helped ensure everything ran smoothly.

More Events Coming Soon

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re already planning the next one. Soon we’ll be hosting more clinical education and networking events, each designed to bring referrers and consultants closer together for faster, clearer, and more effective care for our patients.

If you’re a local GP, physiotherapist, or healthcare professional who wants to connect with our team or attend a future event, get in touch and ask for Jo.

If you’re a patient, know that as we continue to build relationships with excellent referrers, we’re ensuring you’re seen by the right person in the right setting, without the wait.

A Major New Partnership with Cambridge University Hospitals to Reduce Local NHS Waiting Times November 25, 2025

For many families across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, long waits for specialist care are a growing concern. As part of our commitment to serve the local community, The Hamptons Hospital has partnered with Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) to help reduce these delays and give patients quicker access to appointments, diagnostics and treatment.

Supporting NHS services and the local community

This partnership is designed to ease pressure on the NHS and benefit the community directly. CUH receives referrals from across a large region as a specialist hospital serving a wide area, meaning delays affect a broad population across Cambridgeshire. By working together, we are helping more patients access timely care closer to home, with shorter waits and smoother pathways into treatment.

Where we are providing support

We are now seeing NHS patients across several areas of care, including ear, nose and throat, women’s health, heart care, oral surgery, general surgery and diagnostics. People are already coming through our doors for appointments and tests, and moving on to treatment sooner than they would otherwise.

As more referrals come in, we’re working closely with Cambridge University Hospitals to make sure everything runs smoothly for patients, with dedicated clinic space and streamlined processes to keep appointments moving without delay.

Expanding capacity across specialist services

We’re also growing the range of specialist services available to NHS patients. Working closely with Cambridge University Hospitals, we’ve designed clear, patient-friendly pathways that make it easier to get the right tests and treatment without long delays. This includes new heart-care routes, planned hernia surgery lists and expanded access to scans and other investigations. We’re also welcoming additional oral and maxillofacial consultants so more patients can receive the specialist care they need.

What this means for patients

The impact is already being felt across the community. People who might otherwise face long waits are now being seen sooner, progressing through their diagnostic journey more quickly and accessing treatment with less delay.

For patients across Cambridgeshire, and for those referred to CUH from neighbouring areas, this partnership means quicker access to the care they need at a time when NHS services are under real pressure.

Looking ahead

Over the coming months, we’ll continue to grow this partnership so more NHS patients can be seen sooner and move through their care without lengthy delays. We’ll increase capacity where CUH needs it most and keep strengthening the support we provide across clinics, diagnostics and treatment.

Our goal remains simple: to help the NHS and to ensure our community can access timely, dependable care.
