Dr Muhammad Munir is a highly experienced Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of acute and chronic pain conditions. He has been a Consultant at the University Hospitals of Derby & Burton since 2019 and completed his advanced Pain Medicine training in the South London Deanery at King’s College Hospital and Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, London.

With a strong background in interventional pain procedures, Dr Munir offers expert care for conditions such as low back pain, sciatica, musculoskeletal pain, cancer pain, and fibromyalgia. He integrates cutting-edge techniques, including ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia and X-ray-guided spinal injections, to provide targeted and effective pain relief.

Background

Dr Munir initially trained in Anaesthesia in Pakistan before undertaking structured clinical training in Ireland. His expertise includes advanced interventional techniques such as epidural injections, facet joint injections, radiofrequency denervation, peripheral nerve blocks, and ultrasound-guided trigger point injections.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Munir is committed to education and training. He has over three years of teaching experience in international Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia programs and actively contributes to training initiatives within the Midlands Deanery.
