At The Hamptons Hospital, we’re not just investing in world-class consultants and cutting-edge facilities. We’re also building a network of trusted local clinicians who know each other, learn together, and can make faster, better-informed decisions about your care.

That’s why we hosted our first-ever clinical education evening to bring together local physiotherapists, GPs, osteopaths and healthcare professionals to share knowledge and ultimately deliver faster, more joined-up care for patients across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.

The event, titled Rehab or Refer? Making the Right Call in Acute Knee Injuries, featured a live talk from leading orthopaedic knee surgeon Mr Rupert Clifton, who gave a brilliant presentation on managing acute knee injuries. From when to refer for a scan to when conservative treatment is best, Mr Clifton shared practical insights to help referrers make confident, timely decisions that reduce delays and improve outcomes.

Why This Matters for Patients in Peterborough

This event was just one example of how we’re working to make the healthcare journey smoother for every patient. It reflects our commitment to:

Clearer referral pathways mean:

  • Faster scan and consultant appointments
  • Less time bouncing between services
  • Better, earlier diagnoses
  • Fewer delays in starting the right treatment

Behind the Scenes of a Standout Evening

The event was led by Joanne Johnson, our Business Relations Manager, who believes that great care doesn’t start and stop at hospital doors but is built through strong networks, shared knowledge, and seamless transitions between trusted professionals. The evening was a success thanks to her dedication and focus on real relationship-building.

We’d also like to thank other key members of our team, including Tara, Alison, Simon J, Simon M, Addy, Seb, David Lawless, and Matt, whose professionalism helped ensure everything ran smoothly.

More Events Coming Soon

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re already planning the next one. Soon we’ll be hosting more clinical education and networking events, each designed to bring referrers and consultants closer together for faster, clearer, and more effective care for our patients.

If you’re a local GP, physiotherapist, or healthcare professional who wants to connect with our team or attend a future event, get in touch and ask for Jo.

If you’re a patient, know that as we continue to build relationships with excellent referrers, we’re ensuring you’re seen by the right person in the right setting, without the wait.
