Bio

Mr Ali Navi is a highly experienced Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Cambridge University Hospitals, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of arterial and venous disease. He provides clear, compassionate care using the latest surgical and minimally invasive techniques to restore healthy blood flow and reduce the risk of complications such as stroke or limb ischaemia.

Background

Mr Navi was appointed Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Cambridge University Hospitals in 2022. He completed his Foundation Training in Liverpool, followed by Core, General, and Vascular surgery training across London, Oxford, and Cambridge. He then undertook a national fellowship in advanced lower-limb revascularisation (VaLSA) and honorary fellowships at St Bartholomew’s and Royal Papworth Hospitals in complex open and endovascular thoraco-abdominal aortic surgery.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Navi has a strong academic background. He holds a PhD in Vascular Biology from University College London (2018) and an MSc in Advanced Surgical Practice from Cardiff University (2012). His research has been recognised with multiple awards, including the Bogue Research Fellowship at Yale University, USA.

Mr Navi’s academic distinction began early—he was selected as an exceptionally talented student and admitted to the National Organisation for Development of Exceptional Talents (NODET) in Iran before completing his medical degree at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) in 2006.
