Job Description

We are seeking a Health Care Assistant (Bank) to support the delivery of high-quality patient care across diagnostics, theatres, wards and outpatient services. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist nursing staff and help ensure patients receive safe, compassionate and professional care.

This flexible role is ideal for an experienced HCA who thrives in a modern clinical environment and is committed to maintaining high standards of patient safety, dignity and infection control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of patient care and undertake routine clinical support tasks
  • Report changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse
  • Communicate with patients and colleagues in a professional, respectful and reassuring manner
  • Support patients with hygiene and comfort needs
  • Maintain infection control standards and support the prevention of healthcare-associated infections
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and secure clinical environment
  • Ensure accurate handling and recording of patient information in line with data protection requirements
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures and clinical governance standards
  • Contribute to quality improvement and personal professional development
  • Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role

Role Details

  • Contract: Bank role (flexible shifts)
  • Job Type: Full-time or Part-time hours available
  • Location: The Hamptons Hospital, Cygnet Road, Hampton, Peterborough, PE7 8FD
  • Pay: From £14.00 per hour

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant (preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of infection control and patient safety principles
  • Ability to work across multiple clinical departments
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ HCA experience (preferred)
