Mr Gkougkousis is an accomplished Consultant Urological Surgeon specialising in minimally invasive techniques, particularly in laser prostate surgery and urinary stone treatments. He is highly skilled in managing a wide range of urological conditions, offering patient-centred care tailored to individual needs.

Background

Mr Gkougkousis completed his urological training at the University Hospitals of Athens, where he was involved in complex open and endoscopic surgery, gained experience with early-generation Green Light Laser surgery and conducted research culminating in his thesis on α-adrenergic antagonists. He further developed his expertise in endourology, Thulium laser prostate surgery and laparoscopy during his training at the University Hospitals of Leicester. He moved on to Whipps Cross Hospital in London, focusing in endourology and also being involved in open surgery for large complex renal tumors.

Since joining the Urology team at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in 2014, Mr. Gkougkousis established a state-of-the-art minimally invasive service, focusing on day-case treatments for kidney stones and laser prostate surgeries, including HOLEP and Green Light. Today, at The Hamptons Hospital, he continues to bring his expertise to patients, offering advanced minimally invasive procedures focusing on precision and innovation.
