Job Description

As a Housekeeper, you will work as part of a team to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety throughout the hospital. Your role is essential in ensuring a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Working across a range of clinical and non-clinical areas, you will carry out cleaning duties in line with schedules and infection control standards, supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dust and clean high and low surfaces, vacuum and wash floors
  • Clean glass partitions, upholstery, curtains and carpets as required
  • Clean offices, corridors, bedrooms and communal areas
  • Clean toilets, bathrooms, shower rooms and basins
  • Restock soap, hand towels and toilet paper
  • Empty and clean general and clinical waste bins
  • Clean dining areas, including tables and chairs
  • Clean clinical area,s including theatres, consulting and treatment rooms
  • Clean kitchen areas and equipment where applicable
  • Support curtain removal and rehanging for laundering
  • Coordinate with staff to enable access for thorough cleaning
  • Follow infection control, health and safety and hospital cleaning protocols

  • Maintain strict hygiene and infection control standards
  • Demonstrate reliability, attention to detail and professionalism
  • Work respectfully with patients, visitors and staff
  • Job Type: Part-time
  • Location: The Hamptons Hospital, Cygnet Road, Peterborough
  • Pay: £12.50 per hour

Requirements

  • Previous cleaning experience (preferred)
  • Healthcare or clinical environment experience (preferred)
  • Ability to communicate in English (required)
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom (required)
  • Ability to commute to Peterborough or relocate before starting work
