Job Description
As a Housekeeper, you will work as part of a team to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety throughout the hospital. Your role is essential in ensuring a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Working across a range of clinical and non-clinical areas, you will carry out cleaning duties in line with schedules and infection control standards, supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Dust and clean high and low surfaces, vacuum and wash floors
- Clean glass partitions, upholstery, curtains and carpets as required
- Clean offices, corridors, bedrooms and communal areas
- Clean toilets, bathrooms, shower rooms and basins
- Restock soap, hand towels and toilet paper
- Empty and clean general and clinical waste bins
- Clean dining areas, including tables and chairs
- Clean clinical area,s including theatres, consulting and treatment rooms
- Clean kitchen areas and equipment where applicable
- Support curtain removal and rehanging for laundering
- Coordinate with staff to enable access for thorough cleaning
- Follow infection control, health and safety and hospital cleaning protocols

- Maintain strict hygiene and infection control standards
- Demonstrate reliability, attention to detail and professionalism
- Work respectfully with patients, visitors and staff
- Job Type: Part-time
- Location: The Hamptons Hospital, Cygnet Road, Peterborough
- Pay: £12.50 per hour
Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience (preferred)
- Healthcare or clinical environment experience (preferred)
- Ability to communicate in English (required)
- Right to work in the United Kingdom (required)
- Ability to commute to Peterborough or relocate before starting work
