Biography

Mr Masood is a Consultant ENT Surgeon with NHS work base at Peterborough City Hospital.

His area of surgical interest is Endoscopic ENT surgery e.g., endoscopic ear surgery, endoscopic nose & sinus surgery, and endoscopic throat/ swallow disorder surgery. Mr Masood is one of the handful ENT surgeons in East Anglia who performs keyhole ear surgery mostly without any visible surgical cuts or scars.

He also has extensive experience in management of benign head and neck lumps, paediatric and general ear, nose and throat related conditions.

Mr Masood graduated in 1993, after which he went on to gain membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS) in 2006, alongside the passing of his Diploma in Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery (DO-HNS). He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Otolaryngology) in 2010 and trained in the East of England region at Peterborough City Hospital, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Cambridge University Hospital. Subsequently, Mr Masood lived in Australia for two years to complete Fellowship in ENT where he gained extensive experience in the treatment and management of various ear, nose and throat conditions.

Mr Masood has been appointed NHS Consultant ENT Surgeon since 2016 at Peterborough City Hospital (North West Anglia NHS Trust) and is currently the Clinical Director for ENT Head and Neck Unit at North West Anglia NHS Trust heading a large unit of 9 ENT consultants. Since his appointment as a consultant, Mr Masood has also been an active member of the research community, authoring and presenting publications in scientific journals at international conferences. He has a keen interest in training future generation of ENT surgeons and is the Educational Supervisor for ENT Specialty Trainee Registrars for East of England Deanery and Peterborough GP Trainee supervisor for ENT.
